Ringside Rally: AKC Edition
Privacy Policy
Ringside Rally is developed and operated by Woof School LLC (“we,” “us,” or “the developer”). This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights with respect to that information.

What Information the App Collects
Information Stored on Your Device
Ringside Rally stores your data locally on your device using your device’s built-in storage. This includes your lists and their contents, your practice session settings and saved progress, and your app preferences. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly back it up through your phone’s own backup system.
Purchase Information
If you upgrade to Pro, the app uses RevenueCat to process and verify your subscription. RevenueCat may collect your device’s anonymized identifier and purchase receipt information in order to verify your subscription status. We do not receive or store your payment details — those are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. You can read RevenueCat’s privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Anonymous Usage Analytics
We use PostHog to collect anonymous, non-identifiable usage data. This helps us understand which features are used, how practice sessions are configured, and where we should focus improvements. No personal information is collected, and your IP address is discarded by PostHog before any data is stored — it is never written to disk.
The following events are recorded:
| Event | What It Records |
|---|---|
| App opened | The app was launched |
| Practice started | Session source (level or custom list), sign count, timing mode, voice prompt settings |
| Practice ended | Session duration, signs completed, how the session ended, per-sign timing breakdown |
| Sign added to list | Which sign was added and to which list |
| Upgrade prompt shown | Which upgrade prompt was displayed |
| Upgrade prompt dismissed | User closed the upgrade prompt without purchasing |
| Purchase completed | Subscription plan purchased (annual or monthly) |
| Video played | Which sign’s instructional video was opened |
| Interval customized | A per-sign practice timer was changed from its default value |
| Field guide card opened | Which AKC Handbook guide card was tapped |
| Dashboard action | A settings or reset action taken in the Dashboard screen |
Each event is automatically tagged with a small amount of technical context: device type, manufacturer and model, operating system version, app version, locale, timezone, screen dimensions, screen orientation, and subscription tier (free or pro). This context is used in aggregate and contains no personal information.
To distinguish sessions without identifying you, PostHog assigns each app installation a randomly generated identifier (UUID). This identifier contains no personal information, is not linked to your Apple ID or Google account, and resets automatically when you delete and reinstall the app. It is never combined with data from any other source.
PostHog is configured with “Discard client IP data” enabled. Your IP address is dropped before any data is written to disk and is never used to determine your location. Analytics data is stored on PostHog’s US Cloud infrastructure. PostHog’s privacy policy is at posthog.com/privacy.
You can opt out of analytics directly in the app at any time. Open the Dashboard and go to Privacy → Usage Data, then turn off “Share anonymous usage data to improve the app.” Your choice is saved and applies every time you open the app until you turn it back on. You can also opt out by deleting the app — a fresh install generates a new identifier with no prior history — or by contacting us at .
Crash and Diagnostic Information
If the app crashes, your device’s operating system may collect diagnostic information and send it to Apple or Google according to your device settings. We may receive anonymized crash reports through App Store Connect or Google Play Console. These reports do not contain personally identifiable information.
What Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information. We do not collect location data. We do not track your behavior across other apps or websites. We do not sell, share, or rent your information to third parties. Ringside Rally contains no advertising and no advertising SDKs.
Children’s Privacy
Ringside Rally is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Data Retention and Deletion
All data stored by the app lives on your device. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored lists, practice history, and settings.
Anonymous analytics events are retained by PostHog for one year from the date of collection, after which they are deleted automatically.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
